My thoughts on the ECP program
Since high school I have always liked having Life science as a subject. Life
science is so interesting and we are even allowed to dissect animals, which I cannot
wait for. Although the work we do in the first year is only an in depth recap
of the work we did in matric. I was hoping to do completely different and new
work this year, even though I'm in the first year of the four year course, like
we do in Maths 150 but it was the same old same old. Nevertheless LFS (Life
Science) is still very interesting and I can't wait for the new work we are
going to do next year. That is if I even make it to the second year but it
won't be because my marks are bad within LFS, rather because of the devils
subject ISC. ISC is a very unpredictable subject because of the little
information they give about our marks so they sneakily fail you if you slip up.
Which I hope doesn't happen to me but the fear is still there. Actually I think
ISC is like a ninja who will mercilessly kill in the shadows of
education. But what a better way to explain my feelings towards ISC than
the words of the great Albert Einstein, “Two things are infinite: the universe
and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
The only subject that makes me feel like a university student is maths
because of the ‘feel’ maths has. It’s like a typical American movie lecture,
where the lecturer knows everything and just captivates you with his knowledge.
Not that LFS’s lectures aren’t as knowledgeable but the work is all basic.
However I think that my LFS Lecturer is a great lecturer and I hope that we get
her next year as well. I like being in the Faculty of science and I think that
it will bring me one step closer to saving the world within BCB. The people
with in LFS aren’t bad to. I think that everyone in university is interesting
especially within the faculty of science. For example, when I was in high
school the people were very basic and typical because they liked everything I
liked, and it was kind of boring. But in university there is a diverse group of
people and everyone is different. I think its way better this way and that I
can have much more interesting conversations with them, especially with the
women in university. As soon as I got to university that has been the only
thing on my mind because in high school I was too scared of what other people
would think of me that I didn’t try to get a girlfriend. However that isn’t the
case anymore and I shall devote all my free time to get a girlfriend in
university. Unfortunately, that state of mind is easier than it looks because I
still don’t have a girlfriend but I shall keep on trying.
